Sweet Pastels for Spring & Summer 2013
Posted: Jan 28 2013
At The Alchemy Shop, we are having a serious pastel moment. How could we not? These light hues were seen allover the Spring/Summer 2013 runway shows. What we love about blush pinks, soft corals, mint greens, sky blues and gentle yellows are how gorgeous they look on all skin tones. Whether you are porcelain skinned or love to be in the sun, you will love they way these rainbow hues look on. But these aren’t pastel colors that will have you thinking of the Easter bunny, rather, they are sophisticated, elegant and incredibly ethereal. You will love incorporating this light and airy look into your wardrobe.
Christian Siriano, one of our favorite designers, used it repeatedly in his collection. There were glossy, blush jackets, watercolor printed maxi dresses, light blue pant suits and so much more. Chloé featured lovely lavenders and pinks, and combined them with translucent materials, sleek pleats and pretty ruffles. Catherine Malandrino’s Spring/Summer 2013 collections had lots of black and white, but when there were pops of color, she also went with the pastel route. We are itching to get her light yellow jumpsuit, sweet green pants and darling pink dresses.
Here’s a sneak peek of some of the pastel designs we will have up on our site.
Just looking for a touch of color? Then slip on a pair of The Alchemy Shop’s button earrings in pastel blue. It has a simple and classic design, but the color really pops for a fun accent. If you want a sweet look, you can’t go wrong with a bow cardigan. This mint green cardigan has white trim and three bow embellishments that make this design extra special. Wear it over dresses and tank tops, or keep it buttoned up and wear it as a sweater. Next, for all you style mavens out there, we have this pink stone collar necklace that stole our hearts the second we laid eyes on it. We are completely obsessed with this pink jewelry design. We plan on wearing it with strapless dresses for a night out, or with basic t-shirts for a casual-dressy combination. For the work place, or when we want something feminine, a blush pink sequin collar blouse is perfect. It looks great worn on its own, or when layered under a sleek blazer. Pair it with everything from skinny jeans and trousers, to pencil skirts and maxi skirts. When you want something a bit unexpected, how about a mixing something ladylike with a bit of edge. And by that something we mean this lovely, light pink wrap bracelet with spike accents. It has a magnetic closure so that you can slip it on and take it off very easily. And last, but not least on this page, how about a floral skirt? The flower print is so sweet, but the length and way that it hugs your curves is so, so, so sexy. Heads will turn whenever you walk down a street wearing this hot mini skirt.
